2020 is going to be a massive election cycle in the State of Utah. In 2016 we seen the start of candidate signature gathering. More than 200 signature gathering in ’16 but only 14% managed to collect signatures to take the straight path to the ballot or the duel path of both gathering and state convention. In 2018 only 18 federal candidates vowed to gather signatures, but only Mitt Romney with 28,004 out of 28,000 for United States Senate and John Curtis with 7,008 of 7,000 for U.S. Congress in District 3 obtained that feat.
With January 2, 2020 just a couple short months away, for our candidate Ty Jensen who is going to try to go the state election law of SB54 which allows signature gathering candidates to be automatically on the June 23rd, 2020 Republican Primary. Which he himself will start on Jan 2nd to collect the necessary and needed 7,000 registered Republican Voter Signatures. With 150,000 voters in the 2nd congressional district that voted republican in the ’18 general election from Davis County, Tooele, and Salt Lake County, and all the way Southwest along the state border to Cedar City, St George up through Sevier and Sanpete Counties, Jensen will be hard at work until he signs on March 13th.
However he and his campaign are looking for volunteers to help the signature gathering. Applications and even college and high school internships can apply in Dec.
